A Quantitative Study on Cloud Computing in the UAE

Abstract
Information technology and digitization of the business are the key enablers for success in the current competitive market. Businesses across all industries face many challenges when choosing relevant technology solutions and their platforms. However, adoption of cloud computing among enterprises varies in different countries and global markets. Even in emerging markets such as UAE, adoption of cloud is facing definite barriers as highlighted by some recent studies. This research study is aimed at extending current literature on barriers of cloud adoption in UAE with more fine-grained factors and interpretations with the help of quantitative survey research. Resultant analyses were presented as a model for further validation by select IT experts and professional managers, who reconfirmed the research results are applicable, fit, and valid for UAE market. This study thus enhances the current literature on cloud adoption barriers in general and provides more fine-grained factors specific to UAE IT market perceptions.
