Abstract
This article addresses the issue of protecting marine port areas from degradation of the marine environment, specifically focusing on the analysis of solutions that could enhance the environmental safety of marine port areas. The main aim of the article is to present the concept of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as a component of an advanced monitoring system for port areas. Expert research conducted as part of this study aims to identify, which solutions will be most effective from an environmental perspective. Today, the increased traffic in ports contributes to a rise in vessel collisions or malfunctions, resulting in the release of petroleum hydrocarbons into the marine environment, which is extremely hazardous to the ecosystem. Therefore, it is crucial to find solutions that enable rapid response and effective planning of response operations, ultimately enhancing the environmental safety of marine port areas.
