Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive study on the development of an application for secure certificate generation and management utilizing OpenSSL with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption. In response to the escalating demand for robust security measures in digital environments, the proposed application aims to enhance the integrity and trustworthiness of certificate issuance processes. Leveraging OpenSSL for private key generation, Certificate Signing Request (CSR) signing, and certificate management, coupled with AES encryption for secure key storage, the application offers a systematic approach to mitigate vulnerabilities associated with traditional certificate management practices. The research encompasses a detailed exploration of methodologies, validation procedures, and testing frameworks to ensure the reliability and security of the implemented solutions. Furthermore, the paper discusses future prospects for the integration of transient signing keys and the continual refinement of certificate management practices to meet evolving security challenges.
