Abstract

Digitalization offers the possibility to understand how information or digital technology might be applied to modify current company operations. The spread of digital power influences the labor market, requiring new practices, rules, and skills. Implementing new industry 4.0 technologies requires profound changes in business models and strategies, defining a new way of working. In this article, we aim to investigate the effects of industrial convergence processes to exploit digital skills in healthcare services. To answer the research question, an exploratory qualitative analysis was conducted, gathering data from primary and secondary data to obtain data triangulation. The findings highlight the crucial role of digital skills in the digital health era, attesting to the value of digital technologies to meet patient needs, the dynamic learning of the different healthcare actors involved, and the resilience of the healthcare ecosystem. This study offers implications for theory and practice and valuable insights for future research.
