Effect of Particle Size of Li3PO4 on LiFePO4 Cathode Material Properties Prepared by Hydrothermal Method

Abstract

LiFePO 4 is one of the most widely used cathode materials for lithium ion batteries. LiFePO 4 prepared by hydrothermal method has the advantages of good consistency, small particle size, controllable morphology and accurate chemical ratio. In this paper, LiFePO 4 was prepared by hydrothermal method, and the effect of particle size of Li 3 PO 4 as reaction raw material was studied. It is found that the particle size of Li 3 PO 4 could affect the morphology and properties of LiFePO 4 . Among the samples, the porous spherical structure of LiFePO 4 particles can be obtained by using 2 μm Li 3 PO 4 , which is assembled from nanoparticles. This LiFePO 4 has the best comprehensive performance and high vibration density.
