Abstract

In this study, silica extraction from RHA (rice husk ash) has been successfully performed by alkaline using KOH and NaOH with sol–gel precipitation. The silica gel was characterized for the functional group by FTIR, crystallinity with XRD , structure silica with SEM and particle size with PSA. The results show the higher concentration of solvent led to higher silica. The FTIR analysis revealed vibrations of Si O and Si O Si on the product. Additionally, observed to be amorphous and aggregated, the silica extracted from RHA also exhibited a decrease in all samples.
