Abstract

To supply power to the remote areas, micro grids are suitable for the places where, there is a lack of power supply to reach from the national grid system, due to regular frequently disrupted supply because of bae climatic disturbances created by humans. The paper has experimentally tested a microgrid of renewable sources for a modified asymmetrical multi-level inverter (MLI) to obtain single phase 15-level with minimum gate drivers, DC sources, and switches. The low pass filter here is the RL load across the multilevel inverter. The objective of the proposed work is to reduce harmonics to improve the power quality of the microgrid. Nearest level control (NLC) technique is applied and simulation is carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK. Experimental results are validated.
