Abstract
In the recent decade, there has been a significant advancement in arc-flash protection systems, which now include anything from arc-resistant gear to circuit breakers that have instantaneous settings. The use of arc-flash relays, which operate on the principle of light detection, has grown more widespread, particularly in medium-voltage systems. Arc flash relays are just recently being used in low-voltage applications, according to the manufacturer. Light-based arc flash relays perform well in medium-voltage applications, but their dependability in low-voltage applications is questionable. In addition, the complexity of wiring and installation should be kept to a minimum in all applications. Researchers and developers working on arc flash detection technology will be addressed by the authors in order to overcome some of these challenges.
