Abstract

The catalytic deprotection of thioacetals/thioketals with Fenton-halide [H 2 O 2 /CeBr 3 (cat)]: reactive brominating species (RBS) generated in situ from Fenton-like chemistry are highly effective for the oxidative desulfurization of thioacetals and thioketals.
