Abstract

Moringa Oleifera, also considered as “Miracle Tree” is one of the most medically beneficial crop. Recent researches and discoveries of various uses of its direct and bi-products have gained attention from various parties including researchers, farmers and even the policy makers in the governments. The commercial market demand has been moving up north regarding the demand of Moringa products. However, at the same time in desert climatic condition it is not easy to manage plantation. IoT being implemented in farming and plantation has helped farmers to find the solution for many problems on daily basis. It connects things to internet, which returns information or update about things anytime and anywhere. It helped with cost-effectiveness, more quality and quantity. This paper provides a prototype model where the growth of Moringa plant can be monitored with the integration of mobile application and IOT sensor. Soil moisture sensor, raspberry pi 3, and captive moisture sensor is integrated with mobile application for live data capturing, which results better monitoring of Moringa plant, as this can measure water level in plants via soil moisture sensor.
