Abstract

Electromagnetic power transfer or Wireless power transfer (WPT) is the phenomenon in which electrical energy is transferred from the source of power directed towards an electrical load unaccompanied by a wire. This wireless charging system for automobiles has been in progress for several years. Today, WPT is more reliable, required low maintenance cost, and further could be utilized for short-range as well as long-range transmission. In the past decade, a lot of research has been done on this subject and a huge segment has been explored. This consists of a detailed discussion on wireless power transfer techniques including inductive power transfer, resonance inductive power transfer, and magnetic coupler etc. This technique is used avoid annoying wires and to transfer utmost power and to increase the efficiency of the system. The recent progress, technical issues, challenges and state-of-art research are introduced in this paper.
