Abstract

Abstract Selective catalytic reduction of NO x with NH 3 (NH 3 −SCR) is one of the widely used process to abate NO x emission from both stationary and mobile sources. Recently, CeO 2 −TiO 2 based NH 3 −SCR catalysts due to their excellent medium and high temperature activities, high N 2 selectivity and environmentally friendly, have attracted much attention as great candidate to replace the commercial VO x −TiO 2 based NH 3 −SCR catalysts. During the past years, extensive works have been done to achieve the industrial commercialization of CeO 2 −TiO 2 based NH 3 −SCR catalyst. In this review, we summarize the recent studies on the mechanism, deactivation, preparation and modification of CeO 2 −TiO 2 catalyst. The focus of this review is the modification strategies on improving the catalytic performance of CeO 2 −TiO 2 catalyst. By comparing the effect of different modification strategies on the catalytic performance of CeO 2 −TiO 2 catalyst, the perspectives and challenges of CeO 2 −TiO 2 based catalyst for NH 3 −SCR of NO x are discussed.
