Quantum kinetic theory for quantum electrodynamics

Abstract
This paper develops the terms of order $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Elzxh}}$ for the quantum kinetic theory for heavy fermions in QED, especially for terms which contribute to spin polarization for both the fermions and photons. This is a significant first step in developing a complete analysis in QCD, which is relevant for heavy ion collisions.
