Abstract
Granuloma annulare (GA) is a skin condition marked by a localized or generalized (disseminated) granulomatous, noninfectious inflammatory reaction.1 To be considered a generalized form of GA, the presentation must involve a minimum of 10 widespread annular plaques.1 The pathogenesis of GA is not fully elucidated, but recent studies have shown an upregulation of T helper (Th)1 and Th2 and evidence of janus kinase (JAK)- signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) activation.1-3 These findings have provoked interest in using JAK-STAT inhibitors to treat GA and other granulomatous diseases.
