Abstract
Nowadays, the enormous advantages of the Internet of Things (IoT) are being used in a variety of fields, including, but not limited to, transportation, healthcare, and traffic monitoring. However, the lack of strong security in IoT devices can put both the devices and the data at risk, which can be life-threatening in healthcare. Authentication of network devices is identified as a major security concern, particularly in the context of smart healthcare systems. This paper discusses a privacy-preserving authentication technique that provides session key agreement for smart healthcare systems. This scheme is developed by using simple cryptographic operations to cope with resource-constrained IoT devices. The proposed scheme aims to establish a secure session for authorized devices. Security analysis and performance analysis are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, which is found to be more effective than existing schemes.
