Abstract

The synthesis of nine-membered rings via iron-catalyzed alkyne–carbonyl methathesis (ACM) is reported. Biaryl substrates containing alkyne and acetal units undergo intramolecular ACM to furnish the unexplored 6,7-dihydro-5 H -dibenzo[ c , e ]azonines.
