Physical and functional properties of pulsed-ultraviolet treated starch based films with papaya leaf extract

Abstract
Papaya leaf extract enhanced corn starch film opacity and antioxidant activity but lowered water vapour permeability and tensile strength. Pulsed UV improved the mechanical strength and water vapour barrier without affecting antioxidant capacity.
