Abstract

Biomass-derived 1,4-anhydroerythritol is reduced to 1,4-butanediol over a reusable mixture of heterogeneous catalysts, ReO<sub>x</sub>–Au/CeO<sub>2</sub> and ReO<sub>x</sub>/WO<sub>3</sub>–ZrO<sub>2</sub>.
