Abstract

In this study, we explore the impact of graphene oxide (GO) concentration in aqueous suspension on the specific surface area (SSA) of multilayered reduced graphene oxide (RGO). A series of GO suspensions were prepared, and subsequently subjected to reduction using hydrazine hydrate. Particle size for all obtained RGO samples does not exceed 10 μm averagely consisting of 2–3 graphene layers. Our findings demonstrate that, under consistent synthetic conditions, the variation in GO concentration predominantly influences the SSA values while other structural characteristics do not change significantly. We observe a concentration-dependent trend in SSA, displaying a peak value with highest SSA for RGO of 600 m2/g obtained from the GO suspension with a concentration of 4 mg/mL.
