Abstract

Different modification solutions were used to hydrate calcium oxide, and desulfurization effect of modified calcium hydroxide and the influence of operating conditions were studied on a simulated flue-gas fixed-bed platform. The results showed that 50wt% ethanol solution can effectively increase the specific surface area of the adsorbent, reaching 32.93 m2/g. The addition of calcium lignosulfonate can optimize the surface shape under the condition of reducing the ethanol concentration; the addition of 0.5wt% can increase the specific surface area by 1.32 times. Temperature, H2O, SO2 and CO2 concentration have a great influence on desulfurization efficiency. The increase of temperature and H2O concentration can enhance the desulfurization effect, while the increase of the concentration of SO2 and the competing gas CO2 will hinder the surface adsorption activity of the adsorbent. The XPS analysis showed that the main product of the reaction was calcium sulfite, and the crystals formed uniformly on the surface of the adsorbent.
