Abstract
In recent years, there has been an increase in the use of spectroscopy as a diagnostic tool. This review aims to summarize the studies that have reported the use of ATR-FTIR spectroscopy for the acquisition of spectral signatures from saliva, blood and urine for disease diagnostics. Despite the use of different sample processing techniques and varying chemo metric analysis algorithms, considerable similarity is noted in defining peaks from identical regions of the ATR-FTIR spectrum. Hence, we prepared a database reporting molecular fingerprints identified from bio-fluids which will aid the scientific community in improving quantity and quality of researcher’s outcome.
