Abstract
The load frequency control of any system not merely depends upon the controlling technique although on the controller structure. The application of proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and proportional-integral-derivative with filter (PIDN) controller structures for load frequency investigation of isolated power generation plant is addressed in this paper. The dynamic response of the intricate control system is examined in simpler way by considering single power source. With an objective to obtain the stable operation of an isolated hydro power plant choice between PID and PIDN controller structure with cuttlefish algorithm is presented. The cuttlefish algorithm is optimizing the controller parameters to maintain the system stability. The robustness assessment of proposed algorithm validates the ability of algorithm to perform remarkably even with wide range of amendments in system parameters, random variations in power demand etc.
