Abstract

This article presents a semianalytical modeling approach for ac losses computation in high-temperature superconducting (HTS) stacks and coils near ferromagnetic parts. The Brandt's model is combined with the equivalent current model to take into account of the proximity of ferromagnetic materials with finite relative permeability. Large stacks of HTS tapes are considered. A homogenization is applied to reduce the computing time. The obtained results are compared with finite element analysis. Very good agreements are obtained on both local and global quantities.
