Abstract
Rainfall prediction exhibits a noteworthy role in several sectors viz. water resource management, agriculture, infrastructure planning, and disaster management. In India, the agriculture greatly relies on the monsoon season, so accurate prediction of rainfall becomes imperative. There are various parameters on which the rainfall prediction may be based such as atmospheric moisture, humidity, dew point, temperature etc. In the present research, the two parameters namely maximum temperature and humidity have been considered for rainfall prediction. Linear and Non-linear regression models are developed in MATLAB for predicting rainfall. Finally, accuracy of developed models is compared.
