Electrocatalytic CO<sub>2</sub> reduction to formate by a cobalt phosphino–thiolate complex

Abstract

The activity of a cobalt phosphino–thiolate complex towards the electrochemical reduction of CO 2 in the presence of H 2 O is observed to produce formate with a selectivity as high as 94%, displaying negligible current degradation over long-term electrolyses.
