Abstract
The discovery of charge density wave (CDW) order in the kagome-lattice superconductor $A$V${}_{3}$Sb${}_{5}$ is interesting because of the potential interplay between CDW and superconductivity. This paper demonstrates that the CDW order is associated with a sudden hardening of a longitudinal optical phonon mode at the CDW ordering wave vector, thus establishing that the wave vector dependent electron-phonon coupling must play an important role in the CDW order of $A$V${}_{3}$Sb${}_{5}$.
