Abstract
Adaptation to university has been investigated in several studies due to high prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms in this population. Previous research showed that problematic situations faced by graduating students are widely described. However, there is a lack of behavioral repertoires descriptions to be developed by students for them to deal with such situations. We aimed to point out and characterize students’ behaviors that falls into the category "adapt to the university context in a productive and healthy way", based on literature review. To identify such behaviors, we analyzed 19 studies that described university-related issues regarding such problems, actions of students to manage such situations and consequences expected from these actions. We identified seven categories of behaviors necessary for adaptation, involving academic and interpersonal situations. Data can be used by researchers, managers and health professionals to develop interventions with this population, for a healthier adaptation to the university.
