Abstract

Natural products originating from fungi associated with plants display a diverse array of structural types and have the potential to inhibit agricultural pathogenic fungi. This article reviews the reported antifungal secondary metabolites obtained from plant-associated fungi from January 2000 to December 2024. A total of 202 antifungal compounds, including 106 new compounds, are summarized. These antifungal compounds are classified into six major categories: alkaloids, polyketides, terpenoids, steroids, benzene derivatives, and aliphatic compounds. The structure-activity relationships of some compounds exhibiting potent antifungal activity were also discussed. These antifungal metabolites will provide lead compounds for the development and innovation of pesticide agents, and they are of significant importance for the development of new biopesticides characterized by high efficiency and low toxicity.
