Abstract

The investigation was carried out to test the brick masonry compressive strength properties with reference to three different brick samples. Two different mortar mixes such as 1:5 and 1:8 were consider in this investigation. Cement-rice husk ash blended masonry mortar was developed with 75% cement and 25% rice husk ash. The mortar thickness of 12 mm was maintain throughout the study. The impact of strength of both mortar and brick on compressive strength of brick masonry were studied. All the results of masonry compressive strength mentioned in this report are an average of three prism specimens. The relationship chart between compressive strength of brick masonry and the strength of brick and also with strength of mortar was developed.
