Abstract
Transformer health monitoring is important because transformers are critical components of electrical power systems. Transformers convert electrical energy from one voltage level to another, and they play a vital role in transmitting and distributing electricity. If a transformer fails, it can cause widespread power outages, equipment damage, and other problems. By regularly monitoring the health of transformers, it is possible to identify potential issues before they cause problems, which can help prevent outages and other disruptions. Additionally, regular monitoring can help extend the lifespan of transformers by identifying and addressing issues before they become severe. In this paper, a continuous Health Index (HI) monitoring system using the Internet of Things (IoT) is proposed. The proposed model is capable of being integrated into the Digital Twin (DT) of a transformer as well.
