Abstract
A simple and rapid separation and preconcentration method based on precipitation combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry for the determination of trace amounts of cadmium and lead ions has been introduced. Under the optimum conditions, the method exhibited linear dynamic ranges of 5–400 µg/L for cadmium and 8–500 µg/L for lead. The detection limits were 0.96 and 1.71 µg/L and the enhancement factors were 115 and 110 for cadmium and lead, respectively. The results revealed that the presented method is a good technique for the determination of target metal ions in natural water samples.
