Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the Clean Aviation Ultra-Performance Wing (UP Wing) project and its technical ambitions with regards to the design of an ultra-performing wing enabled through high aspect ratio design with multifunctional control movables. The target is to improve the airframe efficiency in terms of aerodynamic and structural performance between 10 and 15% at integrated wing level compared to the current design of a civil transport aircraft. The key technologies are under development and shall be demonstrated with dedicated experiments. The current status of work is described with an outlook for the project lifetime.
