Abstract

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) integration in the healthcare industry has the potential to trigger revolutionary shifts in how smart cities interact with one another. Because of their adaptable characteristics, UAVs provide creative solutions that close the gap between healthcare services and urban centers, thereby improving the quality of life for city dwellers. UAVs use cutting-edge sensor technologies to monitor the environment and public health outside of the physical world. They enable local authorities to make informed decisions and successfully reduce health-related risks by giving them access to real-time data on disease vectors, epidemiological trends, and air quality. The effective incorporation of UAVs into healthcare systems in smart cities is contingent upon multiple elements, such as legal regulations, airspace management, and public approval. In order to manage the changing UAV landscape, stakeholders must work together, as this chapter highlights and emphasizes. It investigates the complex role that UAVs play in forming the healthcare ecosystems of smart cities. UAVs are useful instruments for medical transportation because they allow for the quick and effective delivery of essential goods, such as medicines and medical equipment, to healthcare institutions in metropolitan areas. They make it easier to respond quickly to crises and maximize the use of healthcare resources. UAVs have the potential to revolutionize the way smart cities interact by changing the way healthcare is delivered. In order to fully realize UAVs’ potential to create healthier and more resilient cities, it emphasizes the need to create a supportive environment. It also shows the potential of UAVs as catalysts for good change in urban healthcare.
