Abstract
, which are often implicated in chronic skin infections, can form biofilms that are highly resistant to antibiotics and host immune responses. In recent years, research has shown that probiotics and postbiotics can play a significant role in the maintenance of dermal health. Probiotics and postbiotics can stimulate the immune system, enhance the production of skin barrier components, and modulate skin inflammation, all of which are critical for the maintenance of healthy skin. In this review, we have compiled the current literature on the therapeutic potential of probiotics and postbiotics for the treatment of persistent skin infections and their impact on maintaining dermal health.
