A hybrid halide lead-free pseudo-perovskite with large birefringence

Abstract
A new 2D layered hybrid pseudo-perovskite, MLASnCl 4 (MLA = melamine), shows a large birefringence of up to 0.294@550 nm and excellent air stability.
