Exploring the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Foreign Language Teaching: Challenges and Future Development

Abstract
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, it is increasingly being utilized in the field of education, particularly in foreign language teaching. The concept of education meta-universe is also gaining popularity, and the emergence of ChatGPT has revolutionized traditional foreign language teaching methods. AI technologies such as speech recognition, machine translation, and natural language processing have proven to be effective tools to help students improve their foreign language learning outcomes. However, the application of these technologies also brings some challenges and problems. This paper aims to discuss the impact of AI on foreign language teaching, analyze its advantages and disadvantages, explore its future development trend, and provide suggestions for educators to make better use of AI technologies to assist foreign language teaching.
