Abstract

Within the unique production, the product and the associated components pass through each individual process phase from design to actual manufacturing. Especially in shipbuilding, parallel process organization results in an iterative procedure, which means that the individual elements are subject to many adjustments. To be able to optimize process control nevertheless, a consistent data model is essential. It is possible to monitor individual processes using a digital thread - a prerequisite for the digital twin. This paper presents an approach to map the digital thread in shipbuilding and use it for the digital twin.
