Abstract
This letter highlights the cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome, also known as cardiometabolic renal syndrome (CMR), is a new term coined by the American Heart Association to describe the interconnections of chronic kidney disease, diabetes type II, and cardiovascular disease. CKM syndrome is a common pathophysiology rather than a disease that requires early detection and holistic intervention. Approximately 40% of adults in the United States have CKM. The development of CKM syndrome is multifactorial, including genetic, environmental, and social factors, which require further investigation. The management of CKM syndrome should follow a holistic approach, treating the patient as a whole and not as an isolated disease. Early screening and detection can help identify the syndrome at a more manageable stage.
