Abstract

Machine vision has seen an increasing potential for adoption in manufacturing due to increasing technology performance and decreasing costs. In this scenario, a demonstrator in a Learning Factory may support industry assessment and students’ training. This research presents two machine vision applications in a Learning Factory – a quality control solution and a sorting station. Results obtained include increased machine vision awareness among students and the industry, students training, and a solution that can be spillover from the Learning Factory to industrial applications. The steps followed in this research could serve as a reference for other Learning Factory machine vision implementations.
