Abstract

Solar distillation is a device used to convert saline/brackish water into a pure form using solar energy. Several techniques incorporated to improve the performance of the still. However, the tremendous growth of computer intelligence applied in the process of the solar distillation system calculated using various software packages. One such method is the ANSYS CFD simulation process. Here a three-phase three-dimensional model made for the simulation approach includes evaporation and condensation process. In this simulation process, various parameters also considered in the real-time measurements are also included with the aid of tools available within the software. In this study, the conventional passive double slope solar distillation system simulated using ANSYS Fluent software and its results compared with the experimental data. Here, analytical results follow the good trend as the experimental result and show fine agreement with each other.
