Abstract

The authors of this work have developed the technology of manufacturing a casting made of 20HMFL steel with the help of simulation, and have also developed possible defects and options for their elimination. The object of the study is steel 20XMFL. This steel is used to manufacture parts of steam turbines, cylinders, valve bodies, clamps, steam and nozzle boxes, valve caps and steam coils and other parts of steam turbines. There is not a single branch of mechanical engineering and instrumentation that does not use cast parts. In mechanical engineering, the mass of cast parts is about 50% of the weight of machines and mechanisms, in machine tools - about 80%. This is due to a number of advantages of foundry production compared to other methods of producing blanks or finished products. The moulded parts have both simple and very complex shapes, with shaped inner cavities that cannot or very difficult to obtain in other ways. In many cases, this is the simplest and cheapest way to obtain products.
