Abstract

Rare-earth-free, environmentally benign liquid luminogen are scarce. Herein, we report for the first time a deep eutectic solvent as a blue-emitting liquid luminogen with a quantum yield of ∼23%. DFT calculations deciphered the origin of blue emission. Its potential as a liquid scintillator was further demonstrated with γ-emitting radioactive sources.
