A Comprehensive Survey of Active Power Filter Applications for Load-Based Compensation
Dinesh Kumar Nishad, A.N. Tiwari, Saifullah Khalid
Abstract
This research investigates about how the load-based compensation enhances reactive power regulation at the load terminal by employing shunt or series compensating devices. APFs mitigate harmonic distortion and minimize reactive power usage. There are three different variants available: shunt, series, and hybrid. The control strategies encompass voltage-oriented, sliding mode, fuzzy logic, and neural networks. The objective of this survey is how to optimize power system performance and stability through effective management of reactive power.
