Abstract

This is a corrigendum to Lindegren (Astronomy and Astrophysics 633, A1, 2020). Owing to a coding error in the implementation of the analysis method described in the paper, the results obtained from its application to Gaia DR2 data were significantly wrong. Although the main conclusions of the original paper remain unchanged, the results presented in Tables 2 and 3, Figs. 3-5, and Sects. 3.3, 3.4, 4, and 5 are substantially affected. The revised tables, figures, and portions of the text are given below.
