Abstract
This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier policy on Article Correction, Retraction and Removal ( https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies-and-standards/article-withdrawal ). This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief , following concerns raised by an anonymous reader regarding possible image manipulation in Figure 5d. Upon analysis of data provided by the authors to the EiC and experts in SEM-EDX it has been concluded that the spectrum presented in Figure 5d is a result of data manipulation. Specifically, it was concluded that the two peaks visible in the spectrum at 1.55 keV and 2.75 keV are completely artificial. This was deduced from (i) the abnormally low background around the 2 peaks (1.55 keV and 2.75 keV) attributed by the authors to molybdenum, (ii) the abnormal shape of these peaks, and (iii) the false peak position. The database positions for the molybdenum L lines are: L-alpha1: 2,293.16 keV L-alpha2: 2,289.85 keV L-beta1: 2.394.81 keV L-beta2: 2,518.3 keV L-gamma1: 2,623.5 keV The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
