Abstract
The research rationale of pathogenetic mechanisms of rhinosinusitis poliposa is determined by the wide prevalence, social significance and low treatment efficacy of this disease. Objective. The aim of the study is generalization and analysis of current data on pathogenesis of rhinosinusitis poliposa. Material and methods. The analysis of scientific publications presented in Scopus, Web of Science, Medline, RSCI, eLIBRARY.RU databases for the period 2012—2022 was done. The choice of material was made according to the key words: rhinosinusitis poliposa, etiology, pathogenesis, nasal polyposis. Results and conclusion. Numerous studies have confirmed the multifactority of mechanisms, involved in the development of rhinosinusitis poliposa. Nasal polyps are formed by interaction with environmental factors of acquired or congenital biological defects. At the same time, the following factors play an important role in the pathogenesis of rhinosinusitis poliposa: disorders of air flow’s aerodynamics in the nasal passages; chronic pyogenic rhinosinusitis, fungal lesion of nasal mucosa; cystic fibrosis; disorders of the metabolism of arachidonic acid; Cartagener syndrome. The lack of a unified view on pathogenetic factors makes it difficult to predict the course of a disease and develop effective treatment algorithms. Further in-depth research of this issue is required.
