Abstract

A series of trianion assemblies with hexaazatriphenylenehexacarbonitrile {HAT(CN) 6 } and hexaazatrinaphthylenehexacarbonitrile {HATNA(CN) 6 } with Fe( ii ) or Co( ii ) ions are obtained. Parameters affecting the magnetic properties of the assemblies are discussed.
