Abstract

An optimal control strategy for the energy management system on battery electric vehicles with only one power source is proposed. Firstly, this paper builds the control-oriented models for the drivetrain, battery thermal management and battery aging. Then, it is stated that, taking drivetrain power loss, battery thermal management requirements, and battery health performance into consideration simultaneously would lead to a multi-objective optimal control problem. Dynamic programming is adopted to solve the optimization problem. The simulation results could testify the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed energy management strategy in this paper.
