(Poly)phosphate biotechnology: Envisaged contributions to a sustainable P future

Abstract

The overall challenge of establishing a sustainable anthropogenic phosphate cycle did not change in the last decade, rather the need to act becomes ever more urgent. Here, I briefly highlight some developments in (poly)phosphate research within the last 10 years and dare a crystal ball look for topics that might help us towards a sustainable P society.
