Robust route to efficient extraction of Cr from different Cr-containing hazardous wastes by capitalizing on a reduction–chlorination–volatility technique

Abstract
We efficiently extract Cr from four different Cr-containing wastes through a phase transformation process caused by a reduction–chlorination–volatility route. In particular, almost 100% of Cr could be recovered from chromium ore processing residue.
